Glasgow-based ensemble use improvisation to allow them to interact with musicians, artists, writers, filmmakers and dancers from across the planet, creating a whole raft of new collaborative encounters in the process. GIO has a flexible membership of around 25 musicians but has made artists such as Evan Parker, Maggie Nicols, Keith Rowe, Keith Tippet and many others part of its work over many years.
