Formed by Paul Grabowsky in 1994 and named with a nod to the Art Ensemble Of Chicago, the Australian Art Orchestra’s music has evolved outward from it’s admiration of Roscoe Mitchell et al to create what is considered a very Australian form of jazz. For GIOFest, the AAO’s artistic director Peter Knight and associate artist Reuben Lewis present a duo performance, both on trumpet and electronics.
