Ross Birrell is an artist and writer as well as a lecturer at Glasgow School Of Art. Originally from Paisley, Ross’s artistic interests focus on the point(s) where philosophy, art, place, politics and music all meet, an idea he explores through solo and collaborative projects involving film, installations, interventions, musical compositions and text. Critic Adam Szymczyk has written of his approach to art and Birrell’s working method, which involves weaving together—while leaving some loose ends—several narratives as part of a practice that is both performative and reminiscent of diary writing, subjective and fragmentary.”
