Ryoko Ono is a saxophonist, flautist and improviser from Nagoya, Japan. As well as her own Ryorchestra, she is one half of Sax Ruins with legendary drummer Tatsuya Yoshida and has collaborated with Toshiji Mikawa, Rogier Smal, Richard Pinhas, Akira Sakata, Acid Mothers Temple and many others. As well as free improvisation, Ryoko is also involved in various projects performing prog rock, blues and noise. Ryoko’s saxophone style is often described as aggressive whilst also being an enthusiastic and sympathetic collaborator.
