Any conversation regarding UK and international improvisation over recent decades will inevitably come to the name Steve Beresford. As well as working on commissioned work for film and TV, Steve has also notably infringed on the outer edges of pop culture through work with The Slits, Vic Reeves, The Flying Lizards, Stewart Lee and others. As an improviser he is renowned for his solo work and his countless collaborations, partners including Derek Bailey, John Zorn, Han Bennink, David Toop and Evan Parker. He has an extensive discography as performer, arranger, free-improviser, composer and producer, and was awarded a Paul Hamlyn award for composers in 2012.
